More than anything else, I’ll always remember the Super Best Friends as the guys I could rely on to drag me out of a shitty mood. Any time I was ever feeling down in the past 5 years or so, I most likely went straight to their channel and watched video after video until I’d forgotten all about why was I upset.
It always worked, too. I’m most thankful for that.
It’s been several years since I last watched any Super Best Friends Play/Two Best Friends Play content and it’s only natural and predictable that one day they’d stop making videos or would focus on other projects. An announcement like this wouldn’t normally bother me but…hearing Woolie say “Matt and Pat are no longer friends” just hit me hard…
“Gaming YouTube” has always been notoriously bad, and a mess of toxic people and groups with really forced interactions for personal gain, yet this particular group/channel has always felt nice and wholesome, and its strongest point was how naturally these guys interacted, played or even talked shit about each other – like true close friends who love each other (which was probably the reason it was the only Let’s Play channel I ever cared about). Knowing two of them don’t even really like each other anymore just felt terrible. I’m glad they were honest and open but it’s still a sad ending. Even if they never work together again, I hope Matt and Pat can one day they rekindle their friendship.
Thanks for everything guys, and good luck on your new projects
what ageism is: elderly people living on social security alone not having enough to make ends meet, inaccessibility to public places for people with limited mobility, medical abuse in nursing homes, being assumed to be mentally incompetent, employment discrimination
what ageism is not: you getting mocked for being in your late 30s and getting into heated arguments on tumblr with high school kids about steven universe
In the very likely case that you didn’t see last night’s stream, you missed an important announcement!
Real Fighting on Twitch begins yet again on February 1st, 2018, and this time we’re not pulling any punches! It’s gonna be a brawl for the ages!
It’s Fighter’s February 2: Brawler’s Revolution! A celebration of fighting games, now including beat-em-ups!
Of course February is still a while away, but in the meantime you can join the official Fighter’s February 2 Discord server! (https://tinyurl.com/ff2discord)
And if there’s a game you’d like to see get played during the event, be sure to leave a suggestion here! (https://tinyurl.com/ff2suggest)
Lastly, don’t forget to follow the Twitch channel either! (https://www.twitch.tv/princeoftheironfist) Fighter’s February may be a month and some days away, but I’m still going to stream in the meantime! I do a lot of casual fighting game stuff even!
And that’s about it…for now! I’m really looking forward to next February, and hope you all are too!
Don’t forget to reblog this! It’ll really help a lot (especially since I leave Tumblr tomorrow)!
The real Super Best Friends were the people we met along the way
seriously though, most of the friends and mutuals I’ve made here were due in some part to a mutual love of the Zaibatsu.
When I say the video in my feed this morning, I was shocked, but not quite as broken up about it as I would have expected.
I thought about their casual, welcoming enthusiasm, the familiar jokes amongst friends, and how we could keep that in our hearts, moving forward
Real talk? I’m legit thinking about leaving Tumblr after the 17th.
Not because my blog is gonna get flagged, lord knows I’m in offensive enough to dodge the censors, but I barely use this blog anymore, same with the OC blog.
I’ve had some good times here, but sometimes you gotta look at the big picture. Gotta let go of the past and move on. It’s a healthy thing to do.
I’m probably going to migrate back over to Deviantart and Twitter for good.
Anyone doing the same?
Alright, I took a thought about it and yep.
EFFECTIVE DECEMBER 17TH, I WILL BE LEAVING TUMBLR FOR GOOD.
I barely use this place anymore and whenever I come on I just scroll endlessly without reblogging anything, talking to no one, just wasting my time for hours on end.
Even on my OC blog things have slowed to a crawl (but that could be because of Finals, but I digress).
So come this time next week, I’m cutting Tumblr loose for good.
I’ll obviously link to where you can find me, but for now, I have one more week left on here so…Yeah. I dunno how to end this post.
